This piece is based on a poster found in Keighley Town Centre in 2014 on a closed-down shop window. The piece playfully and sarcastically comments on the state of small northern towns since the Conservatives have gained power in 2010. The north of England is chronically underfunded compared to the south (or more specifically, London) which we can see here. I aim to highlight the forgotten working-class towns of the north, and how something such as a large amount of small businesses failing, continues to fall under the radar due to the location.
